I write young adult, women's, steam punk, fantasy, literary, experimental, witty fiction. I try to be funny as Maureen Johnson, I try to visceral as Lidia Yuknavitch, to be a compelling storyteller as Stephenie Meyer, to haunt your thoughts with the unknown as Holly Black, to frighten you with the what ifs of Scott Westerfeld, and be the book you can immediately pick back up after finishing, like Jane Austen's work. If I accomplish any of that, please let me know. But those authors are a good sense of my inspiration. Occasionally, when they mention who their mentors are, I read up te mentor's work, as well.
I am unpublished, starting out author. I have been writing for eight years. I have never been published, been rejected thrice, and always working on at least one or two novel length works. I use short stories as a form of a break from the longer works.
That is a brief summary of my work. As for me personally? I am newly married, just into my twenties, and constantly cleaning up after my cats. I manage a movie theater to pay my bills, and dance for fun and exercise in my limited free time.
